Hey, I’m Xai! I'm cosmetology student in the Bay Area, navigating a career change in my early 30s.

Before this, I was an elementary educator, but I craved a more hands-on, creative path—one that led me to cosmetology.

​

When researching schools, I struggled to find real insights about the schools in my area. I had so many questions:

​

• What’s the atmosphere like—competitive or supportive?

• How much work is there outside of class?

• What support is available if I struggle with a technique?

Now that I’m in school, I’m finding answers—and even more questions I hadn’t considered:

​

• How do I prevent back pain during long hours on my feet?

• How can I express my style within a strict dress code?

• How do I start building my career while still in school?
